Three-day Hands-on immersion in making collodion wet plate photographs; ambrotype and tintypes, while working side by side with Mark Sink and Kristen Hatgi in and around their studio. Figure and portrait models will be there to muse and inspire. History of the process, Chemistry mixing, plate preparation, safety precautions, darkroom techniques, shooting, and varnishing will be covered. You will leave with the working knowledge and handout to begin or continue working in wet plate collodion, making your very own one-of-a-kind ambrotypes and tintypes.
First day: Presentation of work, explanation and history of the process. Mixing of chemicals and preparation of plates and equipment, demonstration by Mark and Kristen, and finally hands on test for the students.
Day two: Meet 7 am morning shooting session, Brunch, Look at work from the morning session and continue shooting into the evening.
Day three: Meet 7 am morning shooting session brunch, Look at all work made and then varnish everything.
Tuition $800 all materials includes. $200 deposit to hold your place and full payment made by May 1st.
